Daycare and Caregiver Setup
Treat childcare setup like a handoff system, not just a packing list. Your provider needs supplies, but they also need the tiny context that keeps your baby's day predictable: recent feeds, nap cues, diaper needs, authorized pickup names, and how you want urgent questions handled.
- Build your bag from the infant daycare packing list, then remove anything your center does not allow.
- Label bottles, pacifiers, clothing, diaper cream, sleep sacks, and any reusable bags.
- Ask for the daily report format before the first full day so you know where feeds, naps, and diaper notes will appear.
- Write down the backup plan for sickness, late pickup, closed days, and a caregiver who calls out.
Feeding and Pumping Plan
If your baby takes bottles during care, decide how bottles will be prepared, labeled, stored, and returned. If you will pump at work, separate the legal and practical questions: where you are allowed to pump, when you will pump, how milk will stay cold, and what happens when a meeting runs long.

- Ask what activity limits or warning signs matter for your birth and recovery history.
- Decide who covers baby care during appointments, commute delays, or harder recovery days.

Calendar and Household Handoffs
The first week back usually fails at the edges of the day: breakfast, bottles, commute, pickup, dinner, laundry, and bedtime. Make those edges visible before you try to solve them.
